We made the trek to my mother’s house in order to celebrate Turkey Day with the family. This year, our group included D’s mom. It wasn’t until about halfway through the evening, when I had to go get my siblings and mother out of my mother’s giant bed where they were relaxing post-dinner pre-dessert, that I realised how different we are. D’s mom was sitting at the table (like you do) asking no one in particular, “Sooo, there’s pie for dessert? Is that traditional? Anyone, anyone? Hello?”, at which point I saw that she was confused as to why everyone was sprawled elsewhere, and she was alone at the table with Lil G. Manners, schmanners, we say!
